Hello! I’m Tumelo Fani, originally from Botswana and currently based in Rochester, New York, where I am pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Marketing at Simon Business School.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Botswana and over 6 years of experience across Consulting, Technology, and Energy sectors, I bring a solid background and a wealth of knowledge to my work.

I am a marketer who fully embraces data analytics, I am passionate about uncovering underlying consumer pain points and I find great satisfaction in seeing how the solutions I develop positively impact clients.

    I worked as a Senior Assistant/Associate in Marketing and Business Development at Grant Thornton Botswana, where I specialized in proposals and business development work.

    During my tenure here, I conducted client and market research, crafted high-impact proposals for over 150 clients, and achieved an 85% win rate.

  • Energy - Odita Energy

    A power backup company serving 700+ businesses in Southern Africa

    I joined Odita Energy as a Marketing and Business Development Associate, where I managed a portfolio of 4 products being generators, backup batteries, UPS, and solar.

    Here, I worked closely with the engineering and sales teams to understand clients needs and tailor customized solutions for mining, telecom, and retail clients in Botswana.

  • Technology - Brastorne Enterprises

    A tech company dedicated to connecting 760 million underserved Africans with limited internet access through basic-feature phones, utilizing SMS, Unstructured Supplementary Services Data (USSD), and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technologies.

    As a Product Marketing Associate, I monitored the performance of 3 SMS products, a contact center, and an IVR system serving over 700,000 users.

    I also collaborated with sales and product development teams to create Go-To-Market strategies, develop user personas, conduct primary research, test product features, and analyze customer data throughout the sales funnel from idealization to launch.
