Please see some of the projects I have worked on in marketing, research, consumer insights, product testing and strategy development.

London Facebook Lab Accelerator Program

The virtual program was part of Meta’s initiative to support startups and entrepreneurs by offering dedicated mentors, comprehensive training, access to Meta’s products and technologies, and a valuable network of experts and fellow founders.

• I participated in the program and received training in product data analysis, including redefining performance metrics, cohort analytics, A/B and multivariate testing. The simulation exercises I performed on the database during the program provided an in-depth understanding of the users, leading to the launch of 2 new SMS product verticals, which were piloted to a market of 300,000 users.

• I attended a one-week in-person training program at Meta London Labs focused on user-centered product design, aesthetics, and branding. I applied these skills while collaborating with product developers to launch Blaza, an e-commerce app and website, in Botswana.

2019 - 2020 (6 months)

Stanford Seed Transformation Program

I participated in the 10-month program where I received training and mentorship on the strategic and operational skills needed to grow and scale a business.

• I participated in weekly leadership labs and workshops with 10 peers, including top management. We collaborated to create a Business Model Canvas, which offered a clear, structured approach to understand and communicate how the business operated and created value.

• Through this exercise, we redefined the value propositions for 2 USSD-based products and re-positioned them using radio marketing and consumer fairs in local villages to target under-served Africans with limited internet access.

• I completed strategy map exercises and analyzed the sales funnel where I identified operational bottlenecks such as complicated menu structure and training gaps in the contact center and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) service lines. I collaborated with the operations manager to address these issues, improving efficiency by 35%. 

Botswana, 2021 (10 months)

UNICEF U-report Program

U-Report Botswana is a social messaging tool and data collection system developed by Brastorne in partnership with UNICEF. It aims to improve citizen engagement, inform leaders, and foster positive change by sending SMS polls and alerts to participants, collecting real-time responses, and publishing the gathered data.

• I was part of the Brastorne strategy team responsible for implementing and launching the U-Report program in Botswana. I conducted mall and school activations (Railpark Mall, Legae Academy, University of Botswana) generating leads and registering over 20,000 U-reporters.

• I conducted primary research on respondents between 13-35 years to identify and prioritize the features they desired for the social messaging tool, guiding technical integration.

• I facilitated online surveys with 300 respondents, conducted 30 field interviews and 5 focus groups with 40 participants. I transcribed, analyzed, and presented the findings to key stakeholders. 

Botswana, 2020

BeSafe Covid19 App Launch

Brastorne provided pro-bono development support to create the Covid-19 "bSafe" App for the government of Botswana. This digital contact tracing app enhanced national contact tracing efforts, helping health officials identify, alert, and test individuals potentially exposed to the virus through QR codes at service points.

• I was part of the Beta testing group of early adopters that tested the App in Android and Iphone applications for crash rate, load time and user interface, giving feedback to the technical team on its performance.

• I tracked App Store reviews and monitored user satisfaction on social media platforms like Facebook and TikTok following the nationwide launch to 1.5 million users, providing iterative feedback to the development team.

Botswana, 2020

Mpotsa

Mpotsa is an SMS-based service that provides on-demand information about Botswana through user-friendly Voice/IVR technology. It functions similarly to a Google-like service for the rural poor, offering comprehensive information via one-time interactions with the contact center or SMS subscriptions.

• I conducted daily, weekly and monthly performance analysis for the contact center and SMS subscription divisions.

• I analyzed data providing (i) Subscription reports: New users, cancelled subscribers, retained users; (ii) Usage reports: Session time, crash rate; and (iii) Billing reports: Daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.

• I conducted cohort analysis on users segmented by age, gender, location, and buyer patterns to gain insights into their behavior in response to various promotional activities, including radio interviews, ads, SMS campaigns, and consumer fairs.

Blaza E-commerce store

• I collaborated with the product, research, and sales teams from idealization to launch, successfully on-boarding 30 merchants.

• I executed and analyzed marketing campaigns, including email marketing, push notifications, social media ads, and in-app promotions.

• I collaborated with UX/UI designers to create user-friendly interfaces and intuitive navigation of the mobile App and Website.

• I coordinated with developers to test the app and website for functionality, usability, and performance, ensuring alignment with the defined features and user requirements.

mAgri

mAgri is a USSD mobile application designed for farmers, particularly in remote areas. It enables them to connect with the farming community and access crucial information on weather and farming practices. Additionally, it helps farmers effectively market their products and services across the nation.

• I performed data analysis to generate billing, subscription, and usage reports.

• I conducted market research to identify and update content relevant to cattle farmers, sorghum, sunflower, maize, and vegetables, focusing on the needs and interests of rural farmers in Botswana.

Solar Energy Installation projects

• I spearheaded the introduction of Solar Energy packages for domestic, office & industrial use.

• I designed the company profile, logo, brochures, and digital content for B2B and B2C audiences using Adobe Illustrator.

• I managed a social media campaign to introduce the brand and generate leads for 1-10kW hybrid solar systems for home and borehole packages, achieving a 25% conversion rate.

• I conducted in-depth competitive pricing analysis on 10 rivals, which informed the pricing and positioning model relative to key competitors.

• I conducted site visits with field technicians to assess clients' energy needs, develop tailored solutions, provide quotes, and perform quality checks post-project completion.

• I managed the sales funnel from lead generation to closing sales, including creating quotes and invoices using Xero software, handling emails, responding to RFPs, and managing tender submissions.
